Thu, 16 August 2007 I really like this line-up. From front to back, we have a nice mix of hard & soft, rock & folk, some original sounds. I think it's nice representation of NYC's music scene as it is today at the local clubs. Check out who's featured on this week's show: Thursday, August 16: Moon Rabbits bring their (what I think is) early punk sound to Pianos. Friday, August 17: Mellow out with Slim Francis at Club Midway's early show. They have a nice soul, almost country vibe. Saturday, August 18: We've got a smorgasboard of live acts for you. Woods plays Cake Shop with some folk-driven sounds (with some synth too? Interesting combo.) I Love You Airlines was featured first on Show 46. They're gonna shake that basement up at Lit Lounge. Finally, Club Midway's late show for the night includes a group of guys from Glasgow in a band called Terra Diablo (think Oasis minus the whiny voice, when they have balls). They aren't on the podcast, but check out Mystery Hangup. What a great rock & roll band. enjoy! email Chad: alphabetcityradio@gmail.com Comments[17] |
Fri, 10 August 2007 The bands featured in this week's show present some unique sounds. They're all great and look to fit very well to set the mood in their respective venues. Check it out... Friday, August 10: Tirra Lirra come in from Chicago to take on Cake Shop. Saturday, August 11: Coming all the way over from Williamsburg is The Velocet to play Mercury Lounge. They're topping off a great line-up. Don't forget to subscribe (just go to the side and click) and send me (Chad) an email at alphabetcityradio@gmail.com. Thanks for listening! Comments[31] |
